Hello! I’m Annabelle Daisy Dowd, a writer of all trades — reporting, copy, fiction, and fun.
Before pursuing my master’s at Northwestern’s Medill School of Journalism, I was a social worker and fine dining server. After doing eight years in Chicago, I’ve returned to my hometown of LA. I try to spend as much time as I can on the city’s four corners: ocean, mountain, desert, and dance floor.
About
I have experience in breaking news and investigative coverage using audio, video, and photography in addition to writing. I’ve successfully FOIA’d Chicago’s Police Department, interviewed the head of Louisiana’s Army Corps of Engineers, and trailed voters across Chicago’s South and West Sides.
In addition to my journalistic work, I’ve done copywriting for ads and newsletters, professional websites, restaurants, and political campaigns.
I have an orange tabby cat named Francoise. I am absolutely obsessed with him, and he with me. I swear. I can tell. When I’m not outside enjoying LA’s biodiversity, I’m spending my last dime on seafood or rotting in bed with Fran playing the Sims 4.
